ESTES-COUNSELMAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

INVESTING IN THE INDUSTRY'S NEXT GENERATION

Each year, VMA awards scholarships to full-time employees — and the dependent
children of employees — of VMA member companies pursuing college,
professional, or trade school education.

APPLICATIONS OPEN

March 1

Application packets accepted beginning March 1 each year.

DEADLINE

May 31

Complete packets must be received by May 31 — incomplete submissions are ineligible.

AWARDS ANNOUNCED

August 1

Winners are notified within five business days of August 1.

ELIGIBILITY

WHO MAY APPLY

Employed by a VMA member organization for at least one year by January 1 of the award year — or the dependent child of such an employee.
Registered full-time at a college, professional school, or trade school in the previous fall or at the time of application.
Minimum 3.0 GPA — or the equivalent of a B grade at a professional or trade school.
The winner (or the winner's parent) must still be employed at the member company when winners are selected.

HOW SELECTION WORKS

Applications must be typed and include the completed, signed application, the most recent transcripts, and proof of registration for the coming semester.

Sealed applications are redacted by a non-voting administrator and reviewed blindly by the Scholarship Committee, with final awards determined by a point system based on GPA and application quality.
